These are blooming now on our hill.
They are mums from last year.
They were in our large planters on the patio.
I threw them on our burn pile after the season.
Joe rescued them and planted them on the hill.
I did pinch back the buds in the summer.
That gets you more blooms.
Joe is not the gardener in the family but he is the thrifty one.
If you have not been planting your mums, after the season, give it a try.
Remember to pinch (called stopping in Britain)
back the buds in the summer so they do not
get leggy and they will produce more blooms.
Stop pinching in July.
The plants need 90 days to produce their blooms.
We are in zone 8 and have mild winters.
